The restaurant

Dr. Wine is a French bistro and wine bar with two locations in Metro Manila: Poblacion, Makati, and Bonifacio Global City, Taguig. It began in Shanghai with a simple idea that good food and wine should be easy to enjoy and best shared.

When it opened in Manila in 2017, this idea was reflected in warm, relaxed spaces and a menu rooted in classic French bistro dishes. The food is generous and unpretentious, designed to bring people together.

Each location has its own vibe, from the cozy, dimly lit atmosphere in Poblacion to the open, laid-back feel of BGC. With a wine list of over 400 bottles, many from small producers, Dr. Wine keeps things interesting without overcomplicating it. It’s a place for casual dinners, long conversations, and nights that tend to go a little longer than planned.

The Chef

Marc Silvestre

Marc Silvestre is the Executive Chef at Dr. Wine BGC, where he leads the kitchen with precision, creativity, and respect for ingredients. Originally from L’Escala on Spain’s Costa Brava, he trained in renowned kitchens including El Celler de Can Roca and Meadowood in Napa Valley.

His cooking combines classic French technique with Spanish influences, built around seasonal ingredients and personal memories. In the kitchen, Marc brings that perspective to a menu that values balance, craft, and a deep connection to where food comes from.
